Taiwan Mobile announced March 2021 unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$11.73bn, operating income of NT$1.22bn, net income of NT$1.20bn, and EPS of NT$0.43. For the first quarter of 2021, TWM reported unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$35.31bn, operating income of NT$3.64bn, net profit of NT$2.83bn, and EPS of NT$1.01.

Rosie Yu, Chief Financial Officer and Spokesperson, commented that consolidated revenue grew 12% YoY in March, propelled by our e-commerce and 5G businesses. In turn, consolidated revenue rose 11% YoY in the first quarter of 2021. Despite a high base spurred by heightened online shopping demand amid the COVID-19 outbreak a year ago, e-commerce revenue still saw a 19% YoY uplift in March. As for 5G, the upselling momentum continued as more mid- to high-end 5G handsets entered the market and our differentiated 5G offerings - Double Play and momo coin bundles, gained traction. Accumulated 5G users also surpassed the 600k mark, resulting in a YoY rise in March’s mobile service revenue and device revenue. Thanks to the abovementioned growth momentum in e-commerce and 5G, consolidated EBITDA turned to YoY positive for the first time in 15 months, indicating a stabilization in overall operational performance.
