The Company strictly abides by Taiwan’s Political Donations Act and our internal ‘Code of Conduct.’ Illegal political donations offered either directly or indirectly to political organizations or individuals are strictly prohibited. As such, we have never incurred expenses related to political donations.
Moreover, the external environment still has many concerns about the telecom industry, including fees, electromagnetic waves, and access speed, which frequently lead to complaints and/or disputes with clients and residential communities. In addition, cable TV companies also face challenges such as program package pricing, digitization of cable TV, price rate reviews, and copyright infringement issues that negatively influence the companies’ operations and reputation. As such, companies need to advocate and clarify the public’s misunderstandings, explain their efforts, convey their stance, as well as lobby the government and governing authorities for a more benevolent operating environment. Hence, the assistance of public associations is needed in discussions between telecom and cable TV companies and the government with regards to relevant laws and regulations.

Educational messaging on electromagnetic waves We have provided NT$8,000,000 to TTIDA, of which NT$4,000,000 in direct sponsorship is used to commission TTIDA to facilitate National Communications Commission (NCC) in organizing nation-wide advocacy and training seminars in electromagnetic fields, and the other NT$4,000,000 is used for membership fee. |
Support | Public concern over electromagnetic waves (radiation) still exists, and research from academia cannot effectively clarify the public’s misunderstanding that such waves are harmful. This has caused irrational disputes in various locations and affected the construction of base stations by telecom companies. Hence, we shall host seminars through the TTIDA (Taiwan Telecommunication Industry Development Association), organize information sessions, and work with the media to lower such concerns. The results of electromagnetic wave advocacy in 2023 are as follows: (1) Provided telephone consultation services for the public, and home measurement services on electromagnetic wave issues (2) Held seminars in electromagnetic fields (3) Continuous cooperation with the Central News Agency to promote electromagnetic wave knowledge in comics (4) Launched electromagnetic wave advocacy videos on YouTube channel. |
