Taiwan Mobile announced May 2019 unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$10.04bn, operating income of NT$1.49bn, net profit of NT$1.10bn, and EPS of NT$0.40. Year to May accumulated unaudited consolidated figures were NT$49.59bn in revenue, NT$7.14bn in operating income, and NT$5.21bn in net profit. EPS of NT$1.91.
Rosie Yu, Chief Financial Officer and Spokesperson, commented that e-commerce revenue rose by 24% in May, aided by momo’s versatile marketing measures including Key Opinion Leader live streaming and red envelop gifting for Mother’s Day promotion. For telecom business, ICT, IDC and IoT stood out with combined revenue growth of 58% YoY. In terms of profitability, excluding the impact from mobile service contract termination related penalty income, telecom operating income was flat YoY and increased MoM. Also, Cable TV operating income continued to grow. Year to May operating income for all major businesses were within Company’s expectations, and consolidated after-tax net profit reached 42% of FY19 guidance.
