Taiwan Mobile Ranked Among Top 5% in S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the Seventh Time, Retains Position in Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices

May 13,2026

Taiwan Mobile has once again received international recognition for its sustainability leadership. At the annual recognition ceremony for the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026, held today (13) in Taipei, Taiwan Mobile was honored for the ninth consecutive year and ranked among the Top 5% of global companies for the seventh time, standing out from more than 9,200 companies worldwide. The company has been included in the Yearbook more times than any other telecommunications operator in Taiwan. Tony Lin, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Taiwan Mobile, attended the ceremony on behalf of the company and joined representatives from 79 recognized Taiwanese companies to exchange sustainability best practices.

Taiwan Mobile has also once again been selected as a constituent of both the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index and the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Emerging Markets Index (DJBIC), further demonstrating its strong ESG performance recognized by global institutional investors and sustainability-focused funds.

Taiwan Mobile expressed its appreciation for the continued recognition from leading international sustainability assessments and indices. In the AI era, the company is advancing AI-powered ESG governance while accelerating its RE100 and EV100 commitments through Nature-based Solutions, renewable energy adoption, and low-carbon mobility, creating sustainable value for all stakeholders.

AI Reinforces Digital Trust; Network Resilience Becomes a Core Sustainability Capability

As extreme weather events and geopolitical risks continue to intensify, the resilience of critical infrastructure has become increasingly important. Taiwan Mobile is strengthening communications resilience through its satellite-terrestrial integration strategy. Earlier this year, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AST SpaceMobile to expand direct-to-cell satellite communications, enhancing network coverage in remote areas and during emergency situations. In 2025, Taiwan Mobile achieved a base station service availability rate of 99.79%.

Meanwhile, as AI and digital technologies become deeply embedded in daily life, enterprise operations, and public services, society is becoming increasingly dependent on resilient communications networks, robust cybersecurity, and trusted digital infrastructure. Taiwan Mobile leverages AI to strengthen fraud detection and cybersecurity capabilities. Since its launch, the consumer version of OP Scam Buster has alerted users to more than 44 million fraudulent and nuisance calls. The enterprise version, developed in collaboration with organizations including the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Taiwan Network Information Center (TWNIC), has detected more than 650 million suspicious domain names across industries including financial services, insurance, e-commerce, healthcare and biotechnology, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

Cybersecurity is also embedded across Taiwan Mobile's operations and social initiatives. In 2025, the company achieved a 100% detection and prevention rate for sensitive data leakage within its corporate environment. It also helped eight nonprofit organizations (NPOs) build stronger anti-fraud capabilities, with an estimated NT$36.96 million in potential financial losses expected to be prevented over the next three years.

Advancing Nature-based Solutions, Renewable Energy, and Low-carbon Mobility

To address climate change, Taiwan Mobile continues to invest in Nature-based Solutions. In collaboration with Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council, the company is implementing the Taiwan Mobile Blue Carbon Mangrove Restoration Project in Taijiang National Park. The project has planted 3,200 mangrove trees, with measured annual carbon sequestration reaching 102 metric tons per hectare—significantly exceeding the originally estimated 77 metric tons. The project's carbon sequestration capacity is estimated to be four to six times greater than that of terrestrial ecosystems, while also restoring surrounding biodiversity.

In addition, the Taiwan Mobile Foundation and the Biodiversity Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture will jointly introduce blue carbon education to 27 elementary and junior high schools in Tainan this year, expanding the impact of sustainability education.

On the energy transition front, Taiwan Mobile was the first telecommunications company in Taiwan to join the RE100 initiative. In 2025, renewable electricity accounted for nearly 19% of the company's total electricity consumption. Taiwan Mobile has also ranked among the Top 5 companies in Taiwan by renewable energy holdings for five consecutive years, maintaining its leadership within the telecommunications industry as it steadily progresses toward its goal of sourcing 100% renewable electricity across its operations by 2040.

The company is also fulfilling its EV100 commitment through its Taiwan Mobility strategy. Its MyCharge EV charging service addresses consumers' charging and range anxiety by expanding charging infrastructure nationwide. Taiwan Mobile is expected to operate more than 700 charging points across nearly 150 locations, including Costco warehouses, office buildings, major shopping malls, and hotels. Through strategic partnerships with USPACE and WeMo, the company is accelerating the adoption of shared mobility services across Taiwan.
