Taiwan Mobile Partners with Visa to Build Taiwan's First AI Agent Commerce Consumer Use Case

June 16,2026

As AI evolves beyond content generation to support decision-making and transaction execution, global commerce is entering a new era of Agentic Commerce. Taiwan Mobile today announced a strategic partnership with Visa to build Taiwan's first AI Agent Commerce consumer use case through the myfone online. Together, the two companies will leverage Visa Intelligent Commerce and the Trusted Agent Protocol (TAP) to validate how AI agents can securely complete the end-to-end shopping journey—from product discovery and user authorization to payment.

According to Visa, the global Agentic Commerce market is projected to reach US$1.7 trillion by 2030, representing a 67% compound annual growth rate (CAGR).

Jamie Lin, President of Taiwan Mobile, said, "The key to bringing Agentic Commerce from concept to real-world consumer experiences lies not only in AI technology itself, but also in the integration of payment trust, financial services and consumer ecosystems. Taiwan Mobile has built trusted relationships with more than 17 million customers, supported by diverse consumer touchpoints across our telecommunications services, momo e-commerce platform and New Telco+Tech businesses. At the same time, we have embedded AI across network operations, customer service, cybersecurity and digital services, establishing a strong strategic foundation for AI Agent Commerce. Our partnership with Visa marks an important milestone in Taiwan Mobile's AI journey toward the next generation of commerce."

Stephen Karpin, Regional President of Asia Pacific at Visa, said, "AI is rapidly transforming global commerce and payments, and Agentic Commerce represents the next evolution of digital commerce. Visa has been driving payment innovation for decades, incorporating AI into our business more than 30 years ago and investing over US$12 billion in payment infrastructure over the past five years. We are delighted to partner with Taiwan Mobile to build an AI-powered commerce use case within the telecommunications sector, accelerating the adoption of Agentic Commerce in Taiwan and helping shape the future of digital payments, AI applications and commerce."

As the first phase of the collaboration, the myfone online will serve as the validation environment for AI Agent Commerce. Eligible Open Possible co-branded Visa credit cardholders will become the first users to experience AI-assisted shopping, allowing AI agents to complete product selection, user authorization and payment within a secure transaction framework.

Open Possible cardholders currently enjoy up to 3.5% cashback on Taiwan Mobile service fees and 2% cashback on purchases made through the myfone Online Store and a wide range of AI services. Beginning July 1, 2026, new Open Possible cardholders who meet the promotional spending requirements will receive up to 10% cashback, along with a welcome bonus worth up to NT$1,500.

Looking ahead, Taiwan Mobile will continue expanding exclusive benefits for Open Possible cardholders, including opportunities to win premium lifestyle experiences such as Paddock Club passes to the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit in April 2027, further enriching the value of the Open Possible ecosystem through innovative AI-powered consumer experiences.
