August 14,2025

TIME magazine and Statista announced the results of the World's Most Sustainable Companies of 2025. Taiwan Mobile stood out from 5,700 companies worldwide, ranking 85th and becoming the only Taiwanese telecom operator included in the global top 100. The selection process assessed external ESG ratings, participation in international initiatives, disclosure transparency, and more than 20 key performance indicators, all verified through third-party audits, placing Taiwan Mobile within the top 1.5% globally.

Daniel Tsai, Chairman of Taiwan Mobile, stated that this honor reflects the company’s long-term dedication to ESG practices, emphasizing that sustainability is not a slogan but the core mission of the company. Taiwan Mobile has launched the “2035 Zetta Connected 2.0,” pledging to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2040 and net zero by 2050, with concrete actions in renewable energy, energy storage, natural carbon sinks, and transportation electrification. Executive compensation is 100% linked to ESG performance to ensure accountability.

Taiwan Mobile also took the lead by establishing a Board-level Sustainability Committee, chaired by the Chairman and composed entirely of independent directors, to strengthen oversight. The company publishes third-party assured Integrated Sustainability Reports aligned with global standards and has issued its first TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) reports, in line with IFRS principles, addressing climate risks and opportunities while creating long-term stakeholder value.

In 5G and AI applications, Taiwan Mobile leverages 5G NR Carrier Aggregation (NRCA) to integrate the 3.5GHz band, building Taiwan’s largest 100MHz spectrum to deliver a smooth mobile network experience. The company has also independently developed OP Scam Buster and the Number Masking Service, detecting suspicious domains and blocking scam calls and messages. In addition, through a partnership with Perplexity, Taiwan Mobile provides AI learning resources to users and underprivileged students.

In energy transition, Taiwan Mobile is accelerating commitments to RE100 and EV100, aiming for 100% electric corporate fleet by 2030 and 100% renewable energy by 2040. The company has invested in 380MW solar capacity and 354MW storage facilities, while expanding into offshore wind and hydrogen energy. Through a “wind-solar hybrid” strategy, Taiwan Mobile strengthens green energy resilience and supports AI computing and data centers with stable renewable power.

In workplace inclusion, Taiwan Mobile fosters a culture of continuous learning, allowing employees to cross-train and learn from other departments through its “Work Clubs” program. A hybrid model offers 10 remote workdays per month, while an employee stock ownership trust and generous parental subsidies support long-term growth. Comprehensive wellness programs include health checks, stress-relief massage, counseling, and childcare allowances. Nearly 50% of employees and management positions are held by women, underscoring the company’s commitment to gender equality.

With its core values of “Love People, Love Taiwan, Love the Earth,” Taiwan Mobile continues to integrate sustainable governance, technological innovation, and human-centered care, proving its strength as a global sustainability leader.
