The best domestic telecom operators were publicly awarded during the IT Information Governance Annual Conference on the 1st of August. Having passed more than 400 high-standard process verifications from SGS with scope covering more than 400 direct sales outlets as well as Taiwan Teleservices & Technologies, TWM became the leader of the industry with the excellent performance in all evaluation items. As a result, TWM received the "Information Security Management Excellence Award" by SGS in the highest-level of information security evaluation. Not only has TWM demonstrated excellent performance and results in information security management among its peers in the industry, it is also the only domestic telecom operator to receive this honor.
When James Chang, the Chief Information Officer of TWM received the award, he said that in the face of the 5G era, TWM has dedicated itself to improving information security in the cross-border digital field built on cloud, big data, Internet of Things, and AI. Not only is the Chairman of the Information Security Commission served by a senior executive with the level higher than a Vice President, the Company continues to invest a lot of resources each year in optimizing various service management processes as well as strictly implementing various management and control measures. As a result, TWM has repeatedly won major awards and certifications at home and abroad. Not only did TWM rate number one in the DJSI World Index in 2018 and achieve excellent results in information security, it also obtained three certifications in information security and privacy protection including BS 10012:2017, ISO/IEC 29100:2011, and ISO/IEC 27018. In terms of information and cloud safety management, it has obtained the world's first certificates of ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27011, and ISO/IEC 27018. Moreover, it is the only cloud service provider in Taiwan that has passed the highest-level of certification from the cloud security alliance CSA STAR and the EU cloud service star rating ECSA.
James Chang further pointed out that under the high standard professional review of SGS this year, TWM's winning of the only "Information Security Management Excellence Award" in the domestic telecommunications industry proves that it has kept its promise to major stakeholders on vital issues such as personal information protection and information security as a sustainable enterprise on the international stage.
In the appraisal report, the SGS jury pointed out that TWM has taken the approach in accordance with the industrial characteristics and organizational culture to design the personal information, privacy protection, and information security management system that best meets the organizational management strategy and control measures, as well as implementing the system in daily operations. Not only has TWM introduced the information security, cloud security, and privacy and personal information protection management system from different aspects, the scope of introduction and verification covers the whole of TWM with more than 400 direct service centers and Taiwan Teleservices & Technologies. More than 400 processes have been verified one by one, which makes TWM the leader in the domestic telecommunications industry in terms of breadth and comprehensiveness of operations. The scope covers details from application, connection, change, billing, account processing, customer service, fraud prevention, and legal affairs, namely each detail that is relevant to the users. This makes TWM the benchmark and an example for its peers.
