Taiwan Mobile (TWM) announced today that starting from 2019, in addition to renewing its contract with USA LPGA participant Wei-Ling Hsu, it will also sponsor last year’s TLPGA Tour and CLPGA Tour winner, Min Lee. Both golfers have obtained TWM's annual seven-figure sponsorship and will be wearing Taiwan Mobile caps this year as they step out into the golf course!
Taiwan Mobile Chairman Daniel M. Tsai had a pleasant conversation with Min Lee during the professional couples tournament before the Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open Tournament. Chairman Tsai was very impressed with Lee’s golfing skills and her character and opened the doors for the cooperation. Later, after Min Lee had won the tournament, follow-up negotiations were fruitful. Looking ahead to 2019, Min Lee stated that she will focus on gaining qualifications and good scores in each match.
As one of the most enthusiastic sponsors of various sports events in the telecommunications industry, Taiwan Mobile has collaborated with Fubon Bank to establish the Fubon Guardians baseball team and thus became actively invested in Taiwan's most beloved national sport. In addition, the company has also organized the Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open for two consecutive years, thereby providing an international stage on which Taiwan's athletes can compete with top players from around the world. Min Lee also highlighted Taiwan’s support for outstanding local athletes as demonstrated by the corporate push to promote sports within Taiwan. She also expressed her desire to support women in international ladies golf tournaments as they pursue a bright future. Since 2003, Taiwan Mobile has invested more than NTD$670 million in sports events and player sponsorships. Last year the company was awarded the Sports Promoter Award and Sponsorship Gold Medal by the Sports Administration of the Ministry of Education.
