Taiwan's top men's singles tennis player Jason Jung, sponsored by Taiwan Mobile (TWM) since 2018, won the final of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour in San Francisco this morning (Feb. 12 Taiwan time). In the final, he was up against 23-year-old Dominik Koepfer from Germany, who is ranked No. 285 in the ATP world rankings, for the first time. Jason managed to beat his opponent and clinched the crown after two hours and five minutes, claiming the first singles champion title at the ATP Challenger Tour for Taiwan this year.
James Jeng, the President of TWM, congratulated Jason Jung and his family immediately after hearing the result. He stated that TWM started sponsoring Jason Jung, the winner of the men's singles title in tennis at the Taipei Summer Universiade, this year. He is pleased to see that Jason has performed well ever since the Chinese New Year, advancing to the semi-final at the RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas in early February and successfully winning the title at the Kunal Patel San Francisco Open today – all while wearing a shirt with the TWM logo embroidered on. In the past few years, TWM has been paying attention to and sponsored Taiwan's outstanding young athletes in every field. Over the past three years, TWM has accompanied top women's doubles tennis player Latisha Chan, and has seen her become the first women's doubles tennis player in Taiwan's history to win the doubles title in the WTA rankings and become the ITF World Doubles Champion. With the support of TWM, we expect to see Jason perform better and better in the coming international competitions and further amaze his fellow countrymen.
In recent years, TWM has shown our full support to basketball, baseball, golf, and marathon events. Not only has TWM collaborated with Fubon Group to establish the Fubon Guardians baseball team, thus becoming actively invested in Taiwan's most beloved national sport, but we also organized and title sponsored the first Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open in July last year, in order to build an international stage for Taiwan's athletes where they can compete with the top players around the world. Starting from 2018, TWM is the sponsor of women's doubles tennis player Latisha Chan, as well as two other promising athletes: men's singles tennis player Jason Jung and golf player Wei-Ling Hsu. TWM will continue to sponsor and support Taiwan's excellent athletes as they march onto the world stage through these types of actions, thus demonstrating TWM's determination to carry out corporate support to sports culture.
