Today (Dec 18), we celebrated tennis women's doubles athlete Latisha Chan's (sponsored by TWM) women's doubles championship - the first-ever for Taiwan. TWM also announced the addition sponsorship of tennis athlete Jason Jung and golf athlete Wei-Ling Hsu starting in 2018. All three athletes earned TWM's annual seven-figure sponsorship and will be wearing Taiwan Mobile jerseys as they conquer the world, helping Taiwan gain world exposure.

James Jeng, President of Taiwan Mobile, expressed that TWM continues to pay close attention to excellent young athletes from various sports fields, hoping to become the strongest sponsor for the athletes. Since 2014, TWM sponsored women's tennis athletes Latisha and Hao-Ching Chan for the first time, and witnessed the results as the Chan sisters conquered the world in a mere 3-year's time. This year, Latisha Chan lived up to expectations by taking home the US tennis women's doubles champion and climbing to the WTA women's doubles number one rank in the world, and was honored the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) annual Women's Doubles World Championship Dual, becoming Taiwan's first ever Doubles Women's Champion. Through the 3 years of sponsoring Latisha, TWM has watched her climb her way from 37th in the world ranking of women's doubles to today's world champion as she does the country proud. As her long-term sponsor, TWM is truly proud of the outcome.

At the TWM brand sponsorship press conference today, Latisha Chan dedicated her first grand slam trophy (US Open) to the President of Taiwan Mobile to express her gratitude for TWM's support throughout the years. Latisha Chan said, "Athletes compete around the world. Support from our fellow countrymen is our biggest backing! In the past three years, I have been grateful for TWM's support, that made sure that everything was taken care of so that I can go beyond my limits and take home good results for my fans and people at home. In the future, I will spare no effort to bring glory to Taiwan! I am very happy that TWM gains attention from all sectors of the society on athletes working diligently and quietly, who are on the verge of achieving great success in various sports fields. In 2018, I wish to achieve more MIT success with excellent athletes!" James Jeng, President of TWM, then generously gifted Latisha Chan with a silver iPhoneX 256G to celebrate her World Tennis Championship.

James Jeng also declared during the press conference that starting in 2018, the two future stars of the sports world in men's singles: tennis athlete Jason Jung and golf athlete Wei-Ling Hsu will officially be joining the TWM team. At the press conference today, President James Jeng handed sponsorship contracts and jerseys, embroidered with Taiwan Mobile logos, to the two athletes in person. The jerseys symbolize TWM armors to be worn by the two athletes as they embark on their quest to conquer various competitions around the world.

Tennis athlete Jason Jung, whose parents are both of authentic Taiwanese origin, grew up in California. To realize the dream of becoming a professional tennis athlete, Jason has fully committed himself, and officially started playing tennis professionally in 2012. Subsequently, Jason Jung transferred citizenship and returned to Taiwan with the hope of increasing local awareness on tennis. He represented Chinese Taipei in this year's World University Games and won the first gold medal in 14 years for the tennis men's singles and men's group categories, becoming Taiwan's second-ranked men's singles athlete, second only to Yen-Hsun Lu. Empowered by extraordinary strength backed by cheering from the crowd, Jason Jung successfully won the championship at the World Games. After the game, Jason Jung showed humility and gratitude, leaving people in Taiwan deeply touched. At only 23 years of age, Wei-Ling Hsu became immersed in the world of golf at 7. With skillful techniques and an open attitude towards career challenges, Hsu is closing in towards her dream a step at a time, while constantly improving her scores. In the last round of this year's 2017 Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, Hsu surged from a side-by-side 27th ranking as a home athlete to a final side-by-side ranking at number 10, achieving the best result as a Taiwanese athlete. She is currently ranked 412th in the world. Optimistic about potential stars in the sports world, TWM hopes to become their strongest backer and support them in their future success in the international sports world.
