Taiwan Mobile announced to invest in SoundOn Global, the No. 1 audio entertainment brand in Taiwan, becoming the second largest investor. The two parties will collaborate in various ways, together with the advantages of Taiwan Mobile’s audio-streaming service subsidiary, MyMusic, which will bring infinite possibilities in the podcast and audio market.

After the strategic alliance between MyMusic and SoundOn, the two parties will carry out in-depth collaboration in program content and technology application, jointly create a sound business model which is beneficial to Podcast creators and platforms, take advantage of Taiwan mobile’s advertising business, increase the opportunity for business owners to accurately place Podcast program advertisements, and help Podcasters increase audience breadth. MyMusic also plans a specific subscription mechanism, in the future, MyMusic members can directly sponsor a small amount in the APP to help creators convert good sound content into money.
MyMusic, Taiwan Mobile’s audio-streaming service subsidiary currently has more than 6 million registered users. According to its data, 82% of its users listen to both music and podcasts, and 90% of its top programs are hosted on SOG. By partnering with SOG, SOG’s programs would be added into MyMusic’s audio library, giving MyMusic’s users seamless access to listen to the latest and widest selection of programs. Through the partnership, the number of podcast programs on MyMusic is estimated to grow by 20% and the number of podcast episode listens is estimated to grow by 40%.
