The streaming service myVideo cooperated with PTS to produce the flagship drama "The Magician on the Skywalk," which premiered on Feb. 20 at 9 p.m. on both myVideo and PTS channel ,with new episodes in 4K available for streaming on every Saturday at 10 p.m. Through a 5G supported " The Magician on the Skywalk" VR exhibition. Taiwan Mobile helps viewers to relive the heydays of Zhonghua Market and enjoy an unprecedentedly smooth and high definition interactive experience.
"Ever since 2019, Taiwan Mobile has actively supported and invested in the production of Taiwan's dramas, films and television programs," said Taiwan Mobile President Jamie Lin. "The Magician on the Skywalk" had a good original script and a group of talented director, actors and a top production team, perfectly recreating the scenes of Zhonghua Market during the 80s, and making it a milestone in Taiwan's culture and creative industry," said Lin. The company will continue to invest in Taiwan's quality film and television projects to help cultivate talents and allow the world to see the soft power of the country, he added.
The drama "The Magician on the Skywalk" is an adaptation of a bestseller of the same title by author Wu Ming-yi. It depicts the stories of different families living in Zhonghua Market through the eyes of an magician and how their lives intertwine with one another.
The drama was the brainchild of an amalgamation of talented individuals, including Golden Horse Award best feature film director Gilles Yang, Golden Bell Award best actor Kaiser Chuang and Golden Bell Award best actress Jenny Wen. The original soundtrack was performed by Golden Melody Award best Taiwanese female singer Sun Shu-mei and Sam Yang, the leading vocal of Golden Melody Award band Fire EX.
myVideo streams "The Magician on the Skywalk" for free every Saturday at 9 p.m., with a 4k version of the newest episode hitting the virtual
shelves at 10 p.m. The platform also offers subscribers the first two episodes free of charge. For Viewers using Kbro broad band service, Taiwan Broadband A1 box, Apple TV and other television services, myVideo offers ultra high definition resolutions while streaming the drama, allowing them to experience the vivid performance of the actors and the special effects brought out by the collaborative efforts of the Taiwanese-Korean team.
PTS also held a 5G VR exhibition on "The Magician on the Skywalk," making it possible for the audience to have a smooth VR experience via their light-weight headsets as if they were present at the scenes in the drama.
