Stand firmly at the top of Taiwan Telecom Industry, Taiwan Mobile Ranked Second in the World Telecom Industry and been selected in the DJSI World for Three Consecutive Years.

The results of Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) were released on September 14. Taiwan Mobile has been selected for the highest DJSI World rank for three consecutive years, ranking second in the world index in the telecommunications industry and first in the domestic telecommunications industry. Meanwhile, its shares are listed on the "Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index" for the eighth consecutive year. Taiwan Mobile scored 89 points in DJSI this year. In the three major aspects of Economics, Environment, and Society, a total of 24 scoring items, 9 received full marks. Its excellent performance once again stood out from the world's other major telecommunications competitors.

 

Taiwan Mobile ranked second in the global telecommunications industry for the third time this year in the DJSI "World Index." It is obvious that Taiwan Mobile's long-term efforts and performance in CSR have become an role model for international enterprises. Daniel Tsai, Chairman of Taiwan Mobile, said that Taiwan Mobile was the first company in Taiwan to fully respond to 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It further formulated an SBT carbon reduction pathways, setting the goal that by 2030, the carbon emissions of Scope 1 and Scope 2 will be reduced by 30% compared with 2016, and that of Scope 3 will be reduced by 15% compared with 2018. It is known as the first company in the telecommunications and service industry in Taiwan to pass the SBTi target auditing. Meanwhile, as the director of GeSI, Taiwan Mobile will play the role as a sustainable promoter with other international telecommunications industries by learning from each other to make ICT industry contribute the most to global sustainable development.

 

Taiwan Mobile has been selected for the world index for the third consecutive year. Ranking second in the global telecommunications industry, it has established its status as an international benchmark enterprise. Moreover, this year in the Economic Dimension, it has become the most prominent enterprise in the global telecommunications industry. TWM received 9 full marks among a total of 24 scoring items within the aspects of Economics, Environment, and Society.  There are 6 items in the Economics category that received full marks, including Materiality, Policy Influence, Tax Strategy, Information Security, Innovation Management, and Network Reliability. Climate Strategy in Environment category, Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy and Stakeholder Engagement in Society category also scored full marks. What's more, Taiwan Mobile received 95 points in "Risk & Crisis Management" item in Environment category, making it the highest score in the global telecommunications industry.

 

Taiwan Mobile serves as the one and only company among the telecom industry in Taiwan that has been selected for the DJSI "World Index" for three consecutive years, and once again confirms its leading position in the domestic telecommunications industry. In 2017, it was selected in the "World Index" and awarded the second place in the world's telecommunications industry. In 2018, it was selected on the list again and ranked first in the global telecommunications industry, setting a precedent for domestic telecommunications industry to rise to the top of international CSR.
