Taiwan Mobile announced April 2020 unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$9.91bn, operating income of NT$1.36bn, net income of NT$0.98bn, and EPS of NT$0.35. For the first four months of 2020, TWM reported cumulative unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$41.76bn, operating income of NT$5.84bn, net income of NT$4.30bn, and EPS of NT$1.53.

Rosie Yu, Chief Financial Officer and Spokesperson, commented that April consolidated revenue grew by 2% YoY, as momo continued to deliver robust performance with 35% YoY growth in its e-commerce revenue. In terms of our telecom business, while roaming and voice revenues continued to contract, 5G early bird migration sustained decent momentum, and rising IoT demand in smart meter and street lighting helped postpaid subscribers grow. As for profitability, despite the 23% YoY increase in combined operating income of cable TV and momo, telecom business saw softer bundle sales for high-end handsets under the impact of COVID-19, resulting in a 5% YoY decline in consolidated operating income in April. For the first four months of the year, cumulative operating income rose by 3% YoY, with operating income of all major businesses achieving management expectations. Cumulative consolidated net income reached 38% of Company’s FY20 guidance.
