Taiwan Mobile announced FY20 unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$132.86bn, operating income of NT$16.06bn, net income of NT$11.29bn, and EPS of NT$4.01. Propelled by the accelerated growth momentum in our e-commerce business, TWM’s overall consolidated revenue rose by 7% in FY20, where momo accounted for over half of consolidated revenue for the first time at 51%, while contributing to 14% of operating income. On the mobile business, the launch of 5G services and the release of 5G handsets, especially the iPhone 12 series, underpinned the upselling momentum in our customers. By the end of 2020, customers subscribed to high 5G rate plans already exceeded 400k, resulting in the stabilization of our smartphone users’ average monthly fee and narrowing the YoY slide in mobile service revenue. As for profitability, FY20 telecom operating income dwindled YoY due to the start of 5G spectrum amortization and related infrastructure roll-out, as well as business promotions. Thanks to the economies of scale and operating leverage of our e-commerce business, FY20 consolidated operating income and net income both exceeded Company’s guidance.
