Taiwan Mobile announced October 2020 unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$10.43bn, operating income of NT$1.20bn, net income of NT$0.84bn, and EPS of NT$0.30. For the first ten months of the year, TWM reported cumulative unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$104.87bn, operating income of NT$13.65bn, net income of NT$10.02bn, and EPS of NT$3.57.

Rosie Yu, Chief Financial Officer and Spokesperson, commented that in addition to e-commerce revenue growing by 26% YoY in October, its operating income more than doubled YoY thanks to scale benefits and operating leverage. As for the mobile business, during the first nine days after the release of iPhone 12/12 Pro on October 23rd, accumulated handset bundle sales volume were over 30% higher than the previous generation, with more than 80% of customers signing up for $1399 or higher rate plans. Underpinned by this momentum, we have seen a 25% monthly fee increase in the users upgrading to 5G rate plans. Coupled with sequentially stabilizing monthly tariff for our smartphone user base, the YoY decrease in mobile service revenue continued to narrow in October. For the first ten months of 2020, cumulative consolidated operating income fell YoY, as a result of higher spectrum amortization post 5G service launch and declining 4G revenue. That said, operating income of all major businesses achieved management expectations and cumulative consolidated net income reached 90% of Company’s FY20 guidance.
