Taiwan Mobile announced May 2020 unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$10.82bn, operating income of NT$1.43bn, net income of NT$1.03bn, and EPS of NT$0.37. For the first five months of 2020, TWM reported cumulative unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$52.58bn, operating income of NT$7.27bn, net income of NT$5.33bn, and EPS of NT$1.90.

Rosie Yu, Chief Financial Officer and Spokesperson, commented that May consolidated revenue grew by 8% YoY, underpinned by solid performances in momo’s e-commerce and our ICT businesses. In addition to momo’s 31% YoY operating income growth, the launch of “Legends of Runeterra” by Riot Games and falling depreciation also contributed to the bottom line in May. However, the decline in high-end handset bundle sales hindered telecom’s profitability. For the first five months of the year, cumulative operating income rose by 2% YoY, with operating income of all major businesses achieving management expectations. Cumulative consolidated net income reached 48% of Company’s FY20 guidance.
